Radical Prototypes builds working prototypes of alternative futures by reassembling existing technologies into new systems. Their work sits between what exists and what is yet to emerge; the future, here, is a field of possibilities still taking shape.

How might an identity represent something that has not yet come into focus?

We answered with a visual system built on abstraction, ambiguity and partial visibility. Geometric forms are distilled into a single forward arc, while images stay soft, grainy and atmospheric, presenting technology as a glimpse of what might be rather than a picture of what is.

The Arc

A single gesture, pointing ahead. Reduced until it survives at 8mm on a label and at 8 metres on a wall, with nothing added to make it legible.

Partial Visibility

Every image is a detail, never the whole. Shallow depth, cold blue, heavy grain. You see enough to know something is being built, not enough to say what.

A System That Stays Open

Type, colour and image are set as rules rather than templates, so each new prototype enters the identity without the identity closing around it.

A retail environment exploring movement, attention and anticipation.

Stores stage a product carefully until the moment it is chosen. After that, its retrieval is treated as logistics. We asked what changes when that journey becomes the experience.

A selection at the counter releases a carrier from smart storage. It travels through a gravity-driven network of overhead paths, crossing the room in full view before arriving in the customer’s hands.

The counter is no longer the end of the encounter but the start of one. Choosing an item sets something in motion above you.

The Network

Interconnected rails turn the ceiling into a route. The object’s path is legible from anywhere in the store, so attention follows it across the space.

Arrival

By the time the product reaches the customer it has been watched, anticipated and waited for. The handover becomes the moment the store was built around.

A Store as a Route

A brutalist apparel brand, designed as a space rather than a logo.

Raw concrete gives the clothes a surface to be seen against. A single continuous amber line runs through the store, carrying the eye from entrance to fitting room and turning the plan into a path.

Concrete as Backdrop

No graphics, no signage. The material is the identity, and the garments are the only colour until the line appears.

The Amber Line

One line, never broken. It marks the route, lights the rails and reappears on the hanger, the bag and the label, so the brand is something you follow rather than read.

The series plays with the idea that identity can be shaped, styled and performed, while something underneath remains recognisably you. The same woman returns in every frame, with different hair, glasses and clothes, on a different flat ground.
